Maison Vaussiere is located within walking distance of Lorgues, quietly set at the end of a cul-de-sac with only 2 neighbours and no passing traffic.

The spacious garden is fenced with an iron gate making this house safe for small children and dogs.

You can enjoy uninterrupted views over the vineyards from the garden's terraces or swim in the (heated) pool in the privacy of your garden. The house has a 'jeux de boules' court, where you can practice the local sport during your holiday. Balls etc are available in the house.

The garden also has a lawn for children to play and there are olive trees and other mature planting in the charming and very well-maintained garden. The pool (heated on request in spring and autumn) has wide steps into the water, practical for parents with small children or if you want to have a rest from swimming. There are also parasols and large bushes for that most important shade in the midday sun.

On the terraces you find tables and chairs for al-fresco dining both at the front and back of the house. Pots with flowers and other plants make this garden a little haven for it's visitors. If you want warm fresh baguettes and croissants in the morning you can do the 15-20 minute walk (or 2 minute's drive) into the village, where you find a selection of bakeries and small cafés serving freshly brewed coffee and "petit dejeuner". There are several supermarkets in Lorgues, which are open all day all week (in July and August every day) and Sunday until noon (during Spring and Autumn) for all your daily shopping.

On Tuesdays the busy famous Lorgues market is in full swing from early morning until 13.00 – the largest in the region. On Fridays there is a farmer's market with local farmers selling their produce. In high season this market is also combined with a brocante.

The house offers 130m² of living space for 6 people and is divided as follows:

Front entrance leads into a hallway with direct access to a spacious high ceiling lounge tastefully and comfortably furnished with a modern sitting area and original fireplace, flat screen cable TV (French channels), DVD/CD player, Sonos sound system and wifi internet.

The open plan kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, electric cooker (4-ring induction), fridge/freezer, built-in oven, Nespresso and filter coffee machine, kettle, toaster and microwave oven.

There is a 6 persons dining table in connection with the kitchen. From the living room and kitchen, patio doors give direct access to the conservatory, where you find a comfortable sofa and chairs. This is a useful spot to enjoy the garden views in the spring and autumn or for reading a book.

There is a utility room, which is accessed from the garden, with a washing machine, worktop space and sink. The charcoal Weber barbecue is also kept here.

From the hallway there is access to the three bedrooms:

Bedroom 1 has a double bed with two single mattresses (2.00 x 0.90 m) and a tastefully decorated shower room with vanity unit and separate shower with glass screen. There is also a wardrobe and a set of drawers.

Bedroom 2 also has a double bed with two single mattresses (2.00 x 0.90m), a vanity unit and a ceiling fan.

Bedroom 3 has 2 single beds (2.00 x 0.90m), a small tv with DVD player and a desk area.

Bedroom 2 and 3 have large built-in wardrobes with plenty of shelves and hanging space. Baby cot and highchair are available. The shared house bathroom for bedroom 2 and 3 with separate shower, basin and a separate toilet is accessed from the hallway.


Beautiful surroundings, nice house, comfortable rooms. We liked this house very much.

Although our vacation was early April, the weather was already very nice and we enjoyed the nice pool.

Malene and Phil were very helpful in showing the house, the garden, the pool and the other facilities.

It was a very comfortable, spacious and well-equipped house . . . put together very thoughtfully, making sure we would have an unforgettable stay.

Convenient location, perfect if you want to explore its surroundings, which are also beautiful.

We had a wonderful stay and especially enjoyed the lovely swimming pool. Would recommend!

We had a great time in this beautiful and well-equipped house. It is clean, comfortable and has a very attractive garden and a nice big swimming pool.

Places to sit at the front and at the back of the house. It has everything you need. The location is perfect for us: near the village but still calm – you feel right at home.

Restaurants, food & wine

There are numerous bistros and restaurants in the area and in Lorgues for all tastes and budgets such as the famous restaurant Bruno's just outside Lorgues on the road towards Vidauban and Les Arcs, known for its truffle-based specialities, the good quality La table du Pôl with traditional French cuisine to the friendly and atmospheric Italian restaurant 'Le main a la pâte' just up from the centre of Lorgues (pizza and pasta dishes). Here you can eat outside in the warm evenings, children are welcome. 

The atmospheric cafés and bars in Lorgues are just the place to enjoy a glass of rosé or a pastis under shady plane trees. There are plenty of local vineyards and chateaux nearby, where the staff are happy to show you around and let you taste their wines.


In Lorgues, about a 15 minute walk from the house, you find Lorgues Tennis club, where you can rent a court and play from early morning to the evening most days. Just outside Lorgues, on the road to Vidauban/Les Arcs, you find a pony club, where children can have riding lessons.

Bicycles can be rented in Vidauban, where you can choose bicycles for all ages. They even deliver and collect for a small fee – please ask for details. Riding and fishing are nearby. Water sports and paragliding etc are activities, you can enjoy nearer the coast.

The beaches of the Mediterranean coast and the Gorges de Verdon are reachable for a day out. In Lorgues and in the nearby medieval villages, you can visit plenty of historic sites as well as enjoying the various local markets and festivals organised under the plane trees so typical of the region.

For sports lovers: golf, cycling or mountain-biking, walking, bathing, fishing, canoeing etc. can be found in the surrounding area – please ask for updates at the local tourist information in Lorgues.

Arrival is Sunday between 16.00 and 19.00. If you are delayed please let us know. Departure is Sunday before 10.00. If you leave very early (before 08.00), please contact us before to arrange for key hand-over.

Obligatory end cleaning is paid on arrival and amounts to €130.

Optional bed linen is charged at €12.50 per person and bath towels (not to be used by the pool) at €10.00 per person paid on arrival.

Payment conditions: There will be made a rental agreement in the booking process, where the tenant will pay 25% of the total rental price as a deposit within a week. 8 weeks before arrival the remaining 75% of the rent plus the safety deposit (€300) is paid. The safety deposit will be paid back to the tenant after successful end inspection of the property, at the latest 7 days after departure by bank transfer.
